A TEXT POST

3 things I learned in 2010 + 5 things to do in 2011

I know I’m late in this, but still.

1. Too much information is BAD. Better to know less and DO MORE.
Reading a book is different (= BETTER) than being updated on the new Yahoo TV platform. In 2010 I’ve reached the top in terms of information overload. Face but having 3.000 items waiting for you every time you check Google Reader is not. I already almost stopped using Facebook, I ditched a lot of feed subscriptions already and I plan to do more. Here’s a nice guide, but honestly all you need is a clear decision to drop everything that is keeping you from doing what you want.

2. Your life will take your big decisions for you if you don’t move your ass.
Maybe too much philosophy in here, but still. Enough said.

3. It takes less time to sit down and write a blog post than to keep it in your head.
And I should add: a very bad post is better than no post at all. Another thing that has been slowing me down in 2010. I had a lot of ideas to write good stuff, but it needed research, time alone at my Mac etc etc. End result, I pushed back all the good stuff and I just posted crap. I’m sorry and I want to change this.

Having said that, what do I want to do in 2011???

1. Build an iPhone App (I started this already: www.mymodestapp.com)

2. Visit Japan

3. Meditate at least once a week

4. Churn my information intake (fewer bits, more long-form info)

5. Go to the Gym at least 3 times a week
