25 Reasons Why You Need to Have A Whack on the Side of the Head - Conversation Agent
One of my favourite bloggers and fellow italian Valeria Maltoni (aka Conversation Agent: believe me the name fits) lists some 25 reasons why you need to be creative, and how experience and known working patterns can and will get in the way on your path towards creativity.
In other words, she lists the 25 reasons why you need a whack on the side of the head (based on a Roger von Oech’s book).
Being lazy as I am, here you’ll only find the 3 reasons that resonate with me the most. As you are a different person and most likely don’t like what I like, head to the post to find yours.
So here’s my short list:
- You can learn to use the mantra “look for the second right answer.” Thinking that there is only one right answer precludes you from learning more, and creating something different.
- When there is a limit to what you can do, you can do so much more. This seems counterintuitive, but constraints have always been the creator’s best friends.
- Randomness may fool us, but it’s extremely good for innovation. Think 3M, think different.
